We really enjoyed working with the Oomph team, they managed our expectations really well and got to the heart of what we needed. We wanted an identity that would be seen as ‘independent’ and also ‘professional’. Oomph took this simple requirement to a new level, they created something that has had an immediate impact within the crowded market sector and that we wear in resort with pride. The logo looks great and feels absolutely right.

La Cabine / The Cabin

La Cabine / The Cabin

The brief for this amazing ski chalet in the French Alps was an interesting one. We were firstly asked to create a name that worked for both the UK and French market and needed to represent the mountains, the chalet and its surroundings throughout all 4 seasons. The logo had to meet the same requirements; it was essential that we didn’t simply focus on the popular winter season; the company and chalet identity needed to reflect the beautiful surroundings, which are equally breath taking all year round.

We wanted to create a name and an identity that truly reflected the personality and the look and feel of the chalet, the mountains and the clean air. Our starting point was to research words that easily associate themselves with the mountain area, yet feel homely and welcoming. We were able to narrow down the selection quite quickly as there was either no direct translation, or the translation simply did not feel right. The name ‘La Cabine’, which simply translates to ‘the cabin’ was chosen as it really reflected the wooden-style chalet – a safe haven after a day on the mountains.

The name, identity and design collateral that followed came from the ‘family feel’ that the company (a family run business) wanted to portray. To develop the brand foundation, we used a selection of professionally shot internal and external photographs in combination with family photos and Instagram images and as the brand develops, the use of photos posted by guests will start to be included in communication and promotion material. The self-building still and video portfolio is part of the brand building strategy and is a real benefit, as it encourages consumer interaction, establishing an approachable and trustworthy brand.
