With the ever increasing use of social media platforms driving user experience engagement, and with non league matches now being regularly televised, St Albans City Football Club needed to move its visual brand into the digital age and lead the way in this exciting new era.
Behind the board
With the analogue style of pitch side board sponsorship becoming less appealing in the digital age, we created the concept of providing the sponsors with an opportunity to add a 45 second promo to communicate what they offered to the club stakeholders. The idea was that each board would have a QR code that supporters at the ground could use to access the advert, making the 2 dimensional boards become interactive. In addition, these bite size adverts would run at the beginning of a livestream, at half time and at the end of the game. The pitch side board suddenly had mass appeal again.
